Liberty Fabrics has a rich design heritage that complements our premium sleepwear designs. Liberty first opened on Regent Street, London in 1875 and by the 1890s was a byword for the very best of avant garde textile design.
Today, every bolt of Liberty fabric we use in our designs is the product of a bespoke production process: hand-drawn by the Liberty design team, printed in its factory near Lake Como, Italy, and cared for by skilled technicians who oversee hundreds of different designs a year.
Hand-painted designs in the studio.
Liberty’s signature Tana Lawn™ cotton fabric is central to our Made with Liberty Fabrics collection. A masterpiece of fabric technology, Tana Lawn™ is made from specially selected ultra-fine long staple cotton. It's fine, cool and durable with a silk-like feel and brilliant reproduction of Liberty’s lustrous prints.
Liberty’s unique in-house studio is staffed by highly skilled designers, who conceptualize, re work and hand-draw and paint artwork, creating hundreds of fabric designs every year.
Liberty textile designers are, according to Design Director, Mary-Ann Dunkley, experts at creating artwork that has balance, flow and rhythm, making fabrics that are flattering and beautiful.
